Robert Ivy: An American Role Model

Robert Ivy has made history. He is the first architect to receive the Noel Polk Lifetime Achievement Award. The Noel Polk Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to living and currently active artists in connection to the Mississippi state area for extraordinary and outstanding bodies of work in artistic endeavors whether it is creating, performing, supporting arts that are truly worthy of grand honor and notoriety.

Though it goes without saying, this award is one of the greatest honors anyone could receive. Robert Ivy now joins a very, very small group of persons to receive the Noel Polk Lifetime Achievement Award. Other recipients include: Walter Anderson, an American painter and writer (awarded in the year 1989); Leontyne Price, an American soprano singer (awarded in the year 2000); Eudora Welty, an American novelist and short story writer (awarded in the year 2001); Shelby Foote, an American novelist and historian (awarded in the year 2004); and Morgan Freeman, an American actor (awarded in the year 2007).

Robert Ivy served in the United States Navy before receiving his degree Masters of Architecture from Tulane University and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Sewanee: The University of the South. The Bradesco Bank is the second largest bank in Brazil. The President of the Bradesco Bank is Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi. Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi was born in Marilia, Sao Paulo on October 6, 1951. He was a studious student while he attended college and before he attended college.

Trabuc received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Sao Paulo. He furthered his education and earned his master’s degree from the Foundation School of Sociology and Politics in Sao Paulo in Socio-Psychology. At the age of 17, Cappi began his career at Bradesco Bank. 15 years into working at the Bradesco Bank he became the Marketing Director at the bank. Luiz Cappi became the Chief Executive Officer of a private pension company in 1992. In 1998 he was relieved of his duties as the CEO of the private pension so that he could be promoted to the Managing Director at the Bradesco Bank. Shortly after he became the Managing Director of the bank, he was chosen to be the Executive Vice President of the bank. In 2003 he became the President of the Bradesco Bank. Becoming the President of the bank also gave him control over eight companies.

The person who seemingly was least likely to be chosen to become the new president was selected. They selected the new president based off of the person who would be the best fit for the company’s expansion. In this next era, they are looking to expand the company. 54-year-old Octavio de Lazari Junior seemed to be the best fit and was selected by the Succession and Appointment Committee of the Bradesco Bank. People suspected Mauricio Minas who is in charge of technology would be the next president of the company. Lazari has credentials that will help the bank maintain and gain distinction in Brazil’s banking.

Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi will remain the president of the Bradesco Bank until they have the first board meeting on March 12, 2018. After that Lazari will begin his duties as president of the Bradesco bank. Octavio de Lazari Junior is currently working as the banks Executive Vice President and the Chief Executive Officer of the Bradesco Group. When he becomes the president of the Bradesco bank, he will continue to work in the positions that he holds.

Octavio de Lazari Junior received his degree in Financial Strategies from the Faculty of Economic and Administrative Sciences of Osasco. He has been working at the Bradesco bank since 1978. He worked as an agency manager for the branch. In 1998 he started working in credit and became the Director of the credit area. In 2010 he was made the Department Director of Loans and Financing.
